1.1 The Chair welcomed Members and members of the public to the meeting.
1.2 Apologies for absence were received from Rhianon Passmore AM, Bethan Jenkins AM, Mick Antoniw AM and Gareth Bennett AM.
2.1 The Committee received from:
· Catrin Edwards, Policy and Advocacy Manager, Hospice UK
2.2 - During the session Catrin Edwards agreed to provide any information available on the record keeping of hospices in the instance when a patient is transferred to hospital at the end of life.
3.1 The Committee received evidence from:
· Sally Taber, Director, Independent Healthcare Sector Complaints Adjudication Service
· Gerry Evans, Deputy Chief Executive, Social Care Wales
· David Francis, Assistant Chief Inspector, Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales
· Dr Kate Chamberlain, Chief Executive, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales
3.2 During the session the Independent Healthcare Sector Complaints Adjudication Service and Healthcare Inspectorate Wales agreed to provide notes on the detail of the two private patient units in Wales.
4.1 The Committee received evidence from:
· Kevin Thomas, Director of Corporate Services, Wales Audit Office
· Martin Peters, Head of Law and Ethics, Wales Audit Office
5.1.a The Committee noted the letter to the Llywydd in relation to the Supplementary Legislative Consent on the Financial Guidance and Claims Bill.
6.1.a The Committee noted the letter to the Minister for Housing and Regeneration in relation to the Supplementary Legislative Consent on the Financial Guidance and Claims Bill.
7.1 The Committee agreed the motion.
8.1 The Committee discussed the evidence received under items 2, 3 and 4.
9.1 The Committee considered the forward work programme and agreed to discuss a number of inquiries at future meetings.
